Introducing Service Accounts

We are very excited to announce the release of Kissflow's Service Account feature. This feature is only available on Enterprise plans. You can create only up to 25 service accounts. Under each service account, you can create 50 access keys that can be used for access.

A service account is a non-user account used to automate integrations, access shared resources from outside your account, or approve Kissflow items on your behalf. It has an impersonation feature that allows you to impersonate a user and perform actions. Based on the use case, service accounts can access shared resources such as My Items, User and Group Management, Processes, Boards, Dataset, Integrations, and Chat. Each action by the service account is audited in a dedicated log, allowing Account Admins to govern them.

Ways you can use the Service Account:

  • Automate the integration between two processes so that the initiator of the item in the first process is considered the initiator of the second process rather than the owner of the integration.
  • Integrations authenticated with service account credentials run seamlessly and without interruption, but integrations authenticated with user credentials can fail if the user is disabled/deleted by her Kissflow.
  • Service accounts can automate certain aspects of Kissflow without requiring manual intervention.
  • Programmatically access internal Kissflow resources without using Kissflow.
