Exciting New Actions in DataForms: Fetch Item and Fetch Multiple Items!

We are thrilled to announce the release of two new actions in DataForms: Fetch Item and Fetch Multiple Items. These actions are designed to streamline and simplify the process of retrieving specific records from your dataform, providing a seamless experience for citizen developers and seasoned developers familiar with the Kissflow stack.

  • Fetch Item: Easily retrieve a specific record from your dataform using its unique item ID. Whether it's a single record or detailed information you need, it simplifies data retrieval.
  • Fetch One or More Items: Fetch multiple records by applying filters or criteria. This action streamlines fetching sets of records, saving you time and effort.

These new actions minimize the need for JavaScript and HTTP actions in fetching records and respond to user feedback regarding the complexity of these methods. This enhancement makes data retrieval from your dataform more user-friendly and accessible, enabling you to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

Let's say Tony Stark, the CEO of Stark Industries, wants to retrieve specific project details from their dataform using these new actions. Tony uses the Fetch Item action to retrieve detailed information about Project ID #12345. By specifying the item ID in the action, he can quickly access all relevant data related to that specific project. Additionally, Tony needs to retrieve a list of all ongoing projects from the dataform. He uses the Fetch One or More Items action with appropriate filters (e.g., status = "In Progress") to fetch multiple project records matching the criteria.

By leveraging these new actions, Stark Industries can efficiently retrieve and manage project data within their Kissflow dataform, without the complexity of manual coding or external integrations.
