Watching an item in a board

Watching an item allows you to keep track of its progress. Adding items to your watchlist lets you track changes in terms of their progress as and when they are modified by their assignees or other collaborators in the item. You can begin watching any item in a board in which you are an admin or a member, and you can also manually add others in your account as watchers for the item as necessary.

Watching an item

1. On the board, open the specific item you want to watch.
2. Click the Watchlist button () on the top panel of the form.
3. Click Watch to receive updates about the item. Likewise, click Stop watching to stop following the item if you wish to.

Alternatively, if you're in the kanban or matrix layout, you can just click the Start/Stop watching button () on the item card to start/stop watching an item.

Adding others as watchers to an item

1. On the board, open the specific item for which you want to add watchers.
2. Click the Watchlist button () on the top panel of the form.
3. Click +Add watchers to add other members in your board who you want to add as a watcher and select them from the list. The members are instantly added as watchers as soon as you select them from the list.

   

    

Note:

An item can only have one assignee, but it can have any number of watchers. Becoming a watcher is a great option for multiple stakeholders to stay up to date on the item's progress, even if it is not assigned to them.

Removing watchers from an item

Removing someone from the watchers' list will stop them from receiving any updates about the item from then.

1. On the board, open the specific item from which you would like to remove watchers.
2. Click the Watchlist button () on the top panel of the form.
3. Under Watchers, hover over a specific user's name and click the Remove button () to stop the member from watching the item.

   

Managing a watchlist

On your board, click the Watchlist button () to view the set of items that you are currently watching across statuses. You can click the button again to go back to the original view.

Did you know that a Board Admin can allow or limit the availability of this feature based on their requirement?
Yes, a Board Admin can always enable or disable the Watchers setting in a specific board by configuring it from the Optional settings section of the board.
