Breaking the barrier: Reference section fields while configuring table conditions
If you’ve ever felt like your Kissflow tables’ conditions were on a deserted island, they no more are. We’re officially removing the barriers between your section and your table fields' logic.
Previously, referencing section fields inside tables required workarounds and hidden helper columns. With our latest update, context-aware tables are here to streamline your workflows.

What’s changing?
You can now reference section fields (the fields in your main form sections) directly within your table. Key capabilities now live:
Dynamic visibility: Hide the Flight number column unless the section field Travel type is set to International.
Smart validations: Set custom error rules in a table based on a Total budget field in the section.
Conditional requirements: Make Client name mandatory in a table only if the section’s Project category is External.
Advanced filtering: Use section field values to filter lookups within the table.
What this means for you
Cleaner forms: Eliminate helper columns that only existed to bridge data, resulting in a better UI for your users.
Faster building: Save development time by applying logic directly without complex workarounds.
Better data integrity: Ensure your table data is always in sync with the overall context of the form.

This update is live for users across all Kissflow plans, in both platform and apps. You can start referencing section fields in your table settings immediately!
Pro tip: Check your existing complex forms. You'll be able to delete those old hidden helper columns and simplify your logic today.
