Managing audit logs in a dataset
Audit log is a chronological record of user activities within your dataset. These activities include actions performed on flows and items by users.
Audit logs help maintain transparency and accountability by tracking changes at both the Flow-level and Item-level.
Accessing the Audit Log
To view the audit log:
Navigate to Manage > Audit log.
Use the toggle to switch between Flow-level and Item-level views.
What you can see in the audit log
Each log entry provides detailed information about a specific event:
Audit ID: A unique identifier automatically generated for every recorded event.
Timestamp: The exact date and time the action occurred.
Actor: The user account that performed the action.
Action: Describes the specific activity, such as Dataset published, Items updated in batch, and so on.
Object: The resource or entity that was affected.
Event Category: A general label for the event type, useful for filtering. For example, Dataset administration.
Platform: The device or operating system used during the action.
IP Address: The network address from which the action was performed.
Batch ID: A shared identifier for a group of related events, useful for correlating actions. Unlike the Audit ID, multiple events can share the same Batch ID.
Note:
Audit log entries may appear in the interface with a short delay, typically ranging from a few seconds to up to four hours.
For a deeper understanding of each entry, refer to the Interpreting audit logs guide.
